Back to the seaside

And do we found amazing weather at Milano Maritime. We parked our van at the edge of the beach and just enjoyed the sound of the waves…

Well, just kidding… If you know our kids, you know that silence is 1000 times more precious than gold… And so it is impossible to get before they are asleep. Anyway, with 18C in the night and sunshine instead of the rain on the next day, we could not ask for more 😀

Midday with pure sunshine and 26°C

Le Marche – towards Gubbio

A short stop in Barchi, Marche was entertaining mostly for kids. A playground in small old towns are not too popular so we all were pretty surprised to find this one inside the town walls.

Fossombrone – much larger than the previousy seen small, charming towns. And also less charming, but equally hilly and with narrow steep passages.

After climbing the top of the city, running downhill, to reach our van before the rain started for good was very entertaining 😀

We drove to Cagli in rain and stayed there overnight, just at the edge of Arena di Sant’ Emidio. Killing time with Lego is always fun, regardless of the age!

Cagli – we have never searched for a caffee for so long time as in here. Finally we had one at our van 😀

Chasing a mouse and relaxing at the seaside

Since we left Poland, mostly in the evenings, we heard noises coming from under the floor or from behind the cupboards. Yes, that was a mouse… Although we have never seen it “onboard” we found its traces in several places, including cupboards (with no food inside). With six traps of two kinds: a glue one and a more humanitarian that will not hurt its visitor, we used several lures: biscuits, bread, chocolates, sausage and würstel. Only the latter one was interesting for our passenger, but unfortunately not interesting enough to get it inside the trap… Too bad… Hearing how it demages the interior of our home and imaging all the half eaten cables hidden in places so difficult to reach, was too much for us and so we decided to try the last resort… to poison it… Our passenger found the poison very attractive and a huge part was missing just an hour after we placed it. So now we are waiting…

In the meantime we enjoy the last summer days at the seaside in Pinarella di Cervia and camping Adriatico.

Chasing the warmth and hoping for relaxing part 2

As today rain and colder weather were expected in our previous location, we moved South again, to Cervia. Let’s see if the weather predictions are correct and if gained few days of summer more?

At this time of the year the town is almost empty. As well as is the camping (Adriatico) or the beach 🙂

Taking photos with Julia nearby is not an easy task… 😉

Lazying part 1

As we needed some relaxed time, we decided to use the last (?) summer days for relaxing at the beach and in a swimming pool. Villaggio San Francesco in Duna Verde is a place to recommend! The campsite was 30% (or less?) full, the swimming pools were a great attraction for our kids and a warmer alternative to the sea.

And within a 10min walk along the beach there are several restaurants and bars that will not leave you hungry!

Puck and Hel peninsula

Visiting the ones close to your heart is always joyful and beautiful!

But Puck and Hel peninsula are worth paying a visit even if you do not have family living nearby.

The fish soup and fried fish at Maszoperia restaurant – something not to miss!
The market Square in Puck.
Incredible evening’s sky 🤩
Spotting the seals….
The molo in Puck

On our way to Hel! (Mind the single L)
A paradise for kites and windsurfers!

The Hel peninsula is full of history, picturesque places, delicious fishes and sandy beaches. It is also very windy so do not forget your hoody!

Blue springs nearby Smardzewice

On our way to a family celebration in central Poland (85th birthday of my grandpa!) we had a stop in the Blue Springs nature reserve and the nearby Museum of Pilica river.

Although they look like green springs to me, they look amazing. I could stand there for hours staring at the sand dancing in the spring source.
Watching tens of large fishes in the reach of our hands was pretty difficult for Rafal 😉

Trail of the first kings of Poland

Museum of the first Piast at Lednica is well worth seeing. We spend beautiful half a day there. We would have liked a bit more information on the history of some of the places and objects in the nuseum and I installed their virtual reality mobile app that was supposed to help us. Unfortunately the app was not able to detect the GPS receiver in my phone and later it was crashing while starting… Well, when “computer says NO” the discussion is over 😉

In the afternoon we visited the nearby Museum in Dziekanowice. Unfortunately we only had 1.5h to the museum closing and so we were not able to see it all. One would need at least half a day to complete the tour. That is well recommended, especially if you speak Polish and can ask the guides in every building for some introduction to what you see.

That night we spent on a free parking between the two museums, right next to the beach. The views on the sunset above Lednica lake were truly beautiful.

Crossing rivers and Biskupin

In Wągrów there is a unique spot in Europe, where two rivers are crossing their water and flow further separately. Honestly, I imagined them as bigger but their water was very clean 😉

When we reached Biskupin the weather was just perfect for a walk, with a little bit of wind that stopped the mosquitoes. The views were lovely and the free audioguide available from the museum website provided a very good insight into  the history of the place.

What a well thought fireplace!
Photo from the exhibition on the site explorations. Photogrammetric documentation of the excavation site. BTW. Would you climb the ladder? 😉

Stubnica lake and IÅ„sk

As we needed to reach my hometown in few days for a celebration of the 85th birthday of my grandpa (120 lat Dziadku!) we started our journey South-East and found another lovely lave for an afternoon relax and a lovely day after, the small but clean and charming Stubnica Lake nearby IÅ„sk.
